So, June 1, 2012 was a big milestone for us. This blog turned 5 years old. And in what seems to have become an unintentional tradition, we’re celebrating it a few days late!
The first post, back on June 1, 2007 (seems like much longer than 5 years ago), was written by Alan Armstrong, followed by 25 others that month alone!
In those 5 years, we’ve had over 700 published posts – about 140 per year on average – from a multitude of writers. Thanks to Alan Armstrong and Ethan Henry for getting this blog started way back and all your contributions.
And thanks to Jim Holland, Jennifer Doctor, Prabhakar Gopalan, Veronica Figarella, Ninon LaForce, Don Vendetti, John Mansour and all others who contributed to the blog.
We definitely encourage Guest Posts, and of course we’ve had great contributions from many of you. My only request for aspiring writers when you submit an idea or post — please keep it on topic. 🙂
Some of the top posts?
- Agile/Scrum and Product Roadmaps
- The secret to Apple’s success?
- Product Manager vs. Product Management (part 5)
- Open Question: Why did you become a Product Manager?
- Subscription Pricing vs. Enterprise Pricing
- Why I hate that Henry Ford quote!
- Prioritizing Features does not equal Product Management
- Product Management Metrics (part 1)

- SWOT Analysis

- The Importance of Differentiated Product Management Roles
- Rules and Laws Product Managers Should Understand (part 1)
Yes, it’s a top 14 list. Don’t ask why. 🙂 And by listing them, I’ve ensured that of course these posts will get even more popular as you click on them.
Our readership has grown significantly and continues to grow. It’s great to see more readers benefiting from the blog month over month, quarter over quarter.
Google Analytics lists readers from well over 100 countries, with the United States, India, Great Britain, Canada and Australia in the top 5.
So that’s it. Yet another belated birthday. Thanks for reading, commenting and for those of you who have written posts, or will in the near future :-), thanks for contributing to this blog. A haiku seems appropriate.
And Sixty months since
“Three writers, a blog and you”
We’re still going strong.
Here’s to 5 more years…and hopefully not 5 more belated birthday announcements.
