It is the penultimate day of SXSWi (South by South West Interactive) and what an awesome conference it has been. If you are a product manager or product marketer and aren’t here, you are missing a great opportunity to learn and mingle with thought leaders and fellow product leaders (hint: make plans for 2012).
It would be impossible to write a ‘best of SXSWi’ with over a 1,000 sessions and almost 2,000 speakers/panelists taking stage. But here are three things I liked from the first three days and would like to share with those that missed SXSWi.
1) Guy Kawasaki gave a fantastic presentation based on his new book ‘Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds and Actions’. Below is the Slideshare presentation:
2) The good guys from Intuit shared their storyboarding case study of SnapTax. For product managers, developers and designers, this is a necessary step to do before writing a single line of code. The presentation is self explanatory. Below is the Slideshare presentation:
3) Speaking of storyboarding and visual story telling, Ogilvy, the media company sponsored a project Ogilvy Notes, and brought top notch graphic recorders from around the world (like the team from ImageThink and ThinkLink Graphics). The recordings are posted on their website. Limited edition 11×17 copies were given away at the conference. What a generous and great way to contribute to the visual thinking movement! Check out this website for all the session sketches. Here’s one example:

If you are an @ONPM reader and reading this, please reach out to me here at SXSW. I would love to hear from you about ONPM and what your ‘requirements’ for ONPM are!
